Comments: | "Head
First" was written with Steven and Joe at Long View
in Brookfield Massachusetts, a beautiful old farm set on 100 rolling
acres, complete with a rehearsal
space and recording studio in the barn. The Rolling Stones spent a month at Long View in August-September 1981 preparing for their "Tattoo You" tour. Aerosmith have used the farm on several occasions as a writing and rehearsal retreat. The staff were friendly, the food was great, coffee and cookies were available around the clock, and oh yeah .... we got a few songs written during our stay there, including "Head First". "Head First" appeared for the first time as a bonus track on the CD single Eat The Rich, released in June 1993. |

Lyrics: | I was dancin'
down the sidewalk To some slam dunk juke box jive And I wondered then 'bout this old girl friend Was she still around still alive It's been years since my gears have been turnin' Since I asked her to St. Vitas dance Have the flames of my poor heart been burnin' If it's hate then this must be romance Head first baby how the good time feelin' lingers You can be alright on the wrong side of the street I'm so hungry for love I be lickin' off all my fingers But first you gotta learn to take the bitter with the sweet Yeah I feel just like gettin' in trouble By the hair on her chinny chin chin And I love to get down on her stubble With my teeth in a Cheshire grin Head first baby how the good time feelin' lingers You can be alright on the wrong side of the street I'm so hungry for love I be lickin' off all my fingers But first you gotta learn to talk the bitter with the sweet |
