Comments:
I met three of the Go-Go's (Charlotte, Jane and Belinda) at Chateau de Marouatte, a castle in the Aquitaine region of France owned by Miles Copeland, manager of Sting (and previously The Police). Several times each year Miles invites 30 songwriters to "The Castle" for a 10-day songwriting event. I attended on three ocassions.

In June 1997, after one of the "castle" events, I got together with Charlotte and Jane in Los Angeles. We wrote and demo'd a first draft of "Here You Are" in Charlotte's home studio. The song underwent a radical re-write before being included on the Go-Go’s 2001 album "God Bless The Go-Go's".

Jane and I also wrote the song "Fallen" at Miles' castle (with co-writer Trey Bruce). It appeared on Jane's 2001 solo album, "Kissproof World".

Lyrics: Such a hard life lesson it's so strange
Never trusting things will be okay
But even if you leave
Nothing's gonna change
If you lose control
and burn a bridge too far
No matter where you go
Here you are
Here you are
Fall down screw up get up run away
I know what's behind the things you do and say
So just look at me
And I'll show you what I see
When you lose control
and burn a bridge too far
No matter where you go
Here you are
Here you are
The love you seek
The love you own
Is it so fleeting?
Are we really all just alone?
This moment in space and time
Is all that we can know
When you lose control
and burn a bridge too far
No matter where you go
Here you are
Here you are
When you lose control
and burn a bridge too far
No matter where you go
In my heart
Here you are
