From the video for "Par amour
par hasard" |
Bryan Adams and I wrote "Summer Of '69" in January 1984. We spent a few days recording a "basement demo", then we put the tape on the shelf for future consideration.
The very next song we wrote was titled "Heart To Heart", although I can't recall if we wrote it for Bryan, or for another artist. As usual, we recorded a demo, and added another tape to our growing collection on the shelf.
A few months later Bryan went into Little Mountain Sound Studios and recorded "Summer Of '69" for his "Reckless" album,, but "Heart To Heart" was never recorded or released.
Eventually our demo of "Heart To Heart" found its way to the Quebec-based recording artist Francine Raymond, who composed a French lyric. Re-titled "Par amour par hasard", the track appeared on her 1989 album Souvenirs
Retrouvés. It was also released as a single, spending 10 weeks on the charts. |
