Here's a "bio" on Jane Scali, which I found on the website www.ovations.com.au ...
"Without a doubt Jane Scali is one of Australia's greatest talents, having also been the winner of the Australian Mo Awards "Best Female Vocal Variety Performer".
Jane Scali was only 11 years of age when she leapt to national stardom as one of the original members of the popular long–running television show "Young Talent Time". In the ensuing years she has become a mature singer, dancer and actress with an excellent working knowledge of television and stage production.
In the early eighties, Jane was featured as a regular on the ABC's The Saturday Show for 5 years. Her numerous appearances on the Don Lane, Bert Newton, Mike Walsh and the Midday Show with Ray Martin has made her one of the most popular and successful female performers in Australia today. In 1995 Jane made 26 appearances on the ABC's Roy & HG Show and was re–signed for the 1996 season but Jane had to give up her contract to enable her to appear in the Broadway Musical Smokey Joe's Cafe in Melbourne. Jane has been voted Best Female Variety Performer on three separate occasions at the Australian Variety Artists "Mo" Awards.
Apart from her numerous television appearances, Jane has also performed live in clubs, theatres and concert halls throughout Australia and overseas. She has toured with Rolf Harris and Ronnie Corbett. She has delighted audiences in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Greece and has completed successful seasons in every major casino in Australia. In our Bi–centennial year Jane performed to 7,000 people on the River Stage at World Expo '88 in Brisbane.
In 1992 Jane decided to offer the opportunity to young people in Sydney West to share in her training and experience when she opened her Performing Arts Centre. Jane selected a group of young performers, workshopped them in vocals and dance and produced a full 2 hour production show called Jane Scali and Teamwork which was in great demand.
More recently Jane has taken the corporate arena by storm appearing with her dancers and "Teamwork" at conferences across Australia and overseas, from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, Jupiters Casino to Wrestpoint and from Athens to Japan.
At the beginning of 1992 Jane combined forces with a group of very gifted youngsters ranging in age from 10 to 16. A special group which she calls "Teamwork". " JANE SCALI AND TEAMWORK " have become the hottest production to hit show business circles in Australia creating a unique niche in the arts and entertainment industry.
At a recent performance for the Warana Festival in Queensland they gave an audience of 13,000 a day to remember, so much so that the organisers have been quick to re–book this very special production of top talent for further engagements.
Whether for conventions, conferences, or clubland this show can be tailor made to suit your requirements. Special theme events can be expertly catered for. The show itself is professional and designed to suit all audiences, young and old alike."
