At the time of its release, Bryan and I were thrilled about Uriah Heep's recording of Lonely Nights ... (we still are!). It was one of our first "name band" covers .
Bryan was away touring, but my wife and I met Uriah Heep backstage in 1983 when they opened for Def Leppard on the Canadian leg of the Pyromania tour. We had a nice chat with guitarist Mick Box, who was a lovely fellow and made us feel welcome.
In my songwriting career, this track breaks the record for
"most releases". Between 1983 and 2006 Uriah Heep included "Lonely Nights" on at least sixteen albums ... the original 1983 album, "Head First", plus 15 compilation recordings! |
