On
July 31 2001 teen idol Aaron Carter filmed a "live" concert
performance at the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge. The
performance was released on DVD in March 2002, and included a guest appearance
by Aaron's older brother Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys. Nick
performed a nearly carbon-copy rendition of "Heaven", and song
written by Bryan Adams and I in 1983.
Nick is a huge Adams fan. When he was working on his
first post-Backstreet solo album, I was contacted by
his manager with an offer to co-write. I wasn't able to travel to
New York for the writing session, and Nick wasn't able to come to Vancouver,
so it didn't happen.
